Schönheit im Unvollkommenen: Meine neue Serie Wabi Sabi

Beauty in Imperfection: My new series Wabi Sabi

My new series, Wabi Sabi, was born out of a special trip to Japan—a place that resonated with me not only culturally but also artistically. There, I discovered a completely new form of aesthetic that deeply touched me. Unlike my previous, colorful works, Wabi Sabi is calmer, more reduced, and subtle—inspired by the Japanese philosophy that sees beauty in transience, imperfection, and simplicity.

I wanted to leave room in this series – for the essential, for structure, for stillness. And yet, the images possess depth: through multiple layers of color, through fine details, through deliberately placed irregularities. These are works that are understated yet still unfold a strong presence. This new form of reduction feels like a natural step for me – as an artist and as a person.

The series is perfectly suited as art for the home, but also for reception areas, hotel lobbies, or other places where clarity, calm, and expression are required. The works create atmosphere without being intrusive—they accompany spaces rather than dominate them. I am convinced that precisely this kind of stylish art is in demand today: visually powerful yet soothingly unobtrusive.

Each work is unique, with attention to detail and a unique expression. For those seeking something special, Wabi Sabi is an invitation to conscious perception, to aesthetics in imperfection, and to a new form of presence. This series represents not only exclusive art, but also unusual art beyond the ordinary.

I'm excited to design new spaces with this series and bring the Wabi Sabi philosophy to the world – through individual art that makes visible what is often overlooked. And through art from Düsseldorf that speaks its own language far beyond the city limits.
